A Gift That Travels Through Time:Philosophy of Cheng-Fashion
From the exploration of brand building at the beginning of its establishment, to the repeated market changes and rapid responses, to the continuous exploration and absorption of the world's fashion outlook with the global travel as the brand inspiration, to the brand's move towards internationalization, Goelia has always been based on “Cheng”, which means sincerity, selecting high-quality natural fabrics, hoping to allow more consumers around the world to enjoy better clothing quality with a lower expenditure ratio through sincere craftsmanship and honest pricing. Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the brand, Goelia was fortunate to invite Mr. Yukio Sato, who has rich experience in design and pattern, to serve as the brand's design and pattern guidance. Let us follow his perspective and enter the world of Goelia's “Cheng-fashion” philosophy.
Yukio Sato, design and pattern director of Goelia, has been engaged in design and pattern research for more than 40 years. He worked for Yohji Yamamoto, one of the most internationally influential fashion brands in Japan, for 26 years as the person in charge of basic design and pattern of men's style. In addition, he also plays an important design role in the main line series of many brands such as Y's for men, Yohji Yamamoto Homme, adidas Y-3, YMO Oriental Creative Development Ltd.(Kabushiki Kaisha), Ms MIN, and has been responsible for the main design of many international fashion shows.
Timeless Cheng-fashion
Mr. Yukio Sato once said: "Trendy is just something that floats on the surface. A piece of clothing that truly transcends time can be integrated into life and carry emotions. Clothing that is cherished for a long time must stand the test of time."
Regarding the fashion world full of "trends", he frankly said that although fashion changes with the times, the meaning of clothing remains the same, and design is used as a way to express the inner world. Truly valuable clothes can reflect personal style and values. For him, the meaning of pattern is not only about accuracy or beauty. Pattern makers are not just craftsmen, but creators who can convey emotions and sensibilities.
Everyone has different body shapes and lifestyles, so there should be thousands of different dressing concepts. Clothing that resonates with the wearer's lifestyle and philosophy and accumulates unique charm over time is the existence that transcends the cycle of fashion.

Creativity of Oriental Aesthetics
Goelia grew out of the same origin as xiang yun silk, the Guangdong intangible cultural heritage. For its 30th anniversary, Goelia uses xiang yun silk as a medium, combining traditional oriental craftsmanship with modern fashion to create a series of intangible cultural heritage products that represent the symbiosis between Chinese craftsmen, nature and time, showcasing this oriental aesthetic treasure to consumers around the world.
Xiang yun silk, an oriental intangible cultural heritage fabric with organic and flowing beauty, brought new surprises and inspiration to Mr. Sato. He exclaimed, "Xiang yun silk is the symbol of oriental creativity. When I first came into contact with it, its lightness and flexibility gave me a great shock. Its unique luster and texture, the texture that changes over time, has a depth and charm that industrial products cannot match."
Mr. Sato is very confident about the development prospects of Xiang yun silk from the niche market to the international stage. He believes that the unique charm of Xiang yun silk is worth exploring and promoting to the international stage. At the same time, he also hopes to use the unique characteristics of Xiang yun silk to reinterpret it from a modern perspective and give it new life and value. "The real inimitable creativity lies in respecting the past while surpassing the past."

Clothes of Time
The charm of clothing is not that it is a "finished product", but that it becomes more beautiful with time. "Let oriental fashion go global and occupy a place in the global fashion industry" is Goelia's persistent goal.
Mr. Sato believes that to achieve this goal, it is necessary to make its uniqueness resonate with contemporary aesthetics. He hopes to use the quiet aesthetics of the East as the keynote, while incorporating modern ergonomic considerations, so that the silhouette can change in layers as the wearer moves, with a rich rhythmic and dynamic beauty. After years of precipitation, it can also establish an emotional connection with the wearer and become their "clothing of time."
Behind a good piece of clothing is the common sincerity of countless clothing people. Goelia use our works to tell the story of the brand and present you with a gift of cheng-fashion that can withstand the passage of time.
