Understanding Different Types of Leather Pants

Leather pants are available in different variations:

Classic
They have a straight shape and are slightly tapered at the bottom. Suitable for owners of a slender figure. You can combine different things;

Cropped
Such models replenish the list of trends. Outwardly looks very stylish and interesting. However, this style is more recommended for tall girls and it will suit shoes on a flat sole. Low girls on the contrary, you need to choose shoes on the heel, so that the legs do not seem very short;

Skinny
The tight leather pants look like a "second skin". Pants will highlight every centimeter of your figure, so more suitable for girls with slender legs. This option is appropriate for both every day and evening looks;

Flared
This model visually makes the legs perfectly flat and can even hide some flaws of the figure;

Wide-leg
The style is suitable for those who want to camouflage the flaws in the shape of the legs. Also wide pants visually make the figure slimmer, but the length in this case should reach the floor.

A variety of models and styles of leather pants will allow every fashionista to find the right option for herself.

Choosing the Right Fit

On frosty days, girls wear not only thick leggings or jeans, but the list of necessary pairs for the cold season includes also leather ones. They are not bad to keep warm, perfectly combined with almost any top, and are also able to effectively emphasize the figure. But you should be careful with the last point - it works if you choose the right model. We tell you what to pay attention to.

The perfect fit is not only the material but also the cut. There is no need to experiment with the style, it is enough to follow the proven rules. For example, the waist on a leather pants can be either medium or high - it makes sense to buy the latter option, it better models the silhouette. It is important to pay attention to how the pants sit in the thigh zone. Overly relaxed models will not suit everyone, although they hide their legs, which many people call their problem area. It is better to choose products that are moderately tight around the hips and slightly expand downward. Such win-win leather pairs include flared pants. However, straight models will also come in handy.

Many forget about the length of the leather pants while trying on, paying attention solely to the fit on the waist and hips. And it can also be "insidious". Let the shortened models remain hanging on the rails - they are "dangerous" for every girl if you do not take into account the rules of stylization (and there is not always time for this). It is better to choose leather pants that cover the ankle and reach the foot. Too long models will not globally harm the proportions, but they will make you uncomfortable.

Once you have decided on the style, you should turn your attention to the decor and color. Some elements can visually spoil the silhouette. And no, it's not decorative belts or chains - but pockets. Most often they are located on the hips - another problem area for many. Therefore, these elements should not be large and voluminous. Remember a simple rule - types of pockets, such as silhouette.

The fewer horizontal lines (even seams) on leather pants, the lower the risk that deformed proportions and you will seem lower in height. But vertical arrows will give the opposite effect. You can also choose pairs without decorations - this is also a win-win solution. It is better to add an accent belt if you are afraid that the bottom without additional details will look boring.

Choose leather pants in calm colors. The winning options are black, chocolate, and milk pairs. But you can stop and khaki, and coffee, and beige. The palette of pastel colors looks expensive, but the same powdery pink can make you look fat. It is better to avoid prints altogether unless we are talking about actual hybrid pairs. These models have pants made of different materials. But such creative solutions should be located at the very bottom, otherwise they will visually add volume.

What to Wear with Leather Pants?

If you want to bring brightness, boldness, or something new to your everyday images, you should pay attention to leather pants. Nowadays they are very popular, especially in spring and fall, but in winter they are not an exception. They are a great alternative to denim pants and give you an original and stylish look.

These pants can be easily combined with any clothes - from t-shirts, and silk shirts to jackets. Pay attention to a few combinations that will make you look simply flawless when paired with leather pants.

Classic white shirt
Simple and very impressive: black pants and a dazzling white oversized shirt. If you add model shoes to this set, it will come out more elegant, and with a sporty pair - comfortable. This combination is good for leather pants of almost any cut. In addition, this outfit is also very suitable for women who work in the office every day, adding a bit of style to the boring office atmosphere.

With a silk shirt
Do you find plain shirts too casual? Then combining a silk shirt with leather pants can be a great choice. The images that catch people's eyes the most are those that are built on the contrast of textures. According to this principle, these pants can be worn paired with silk shirts and blouses. To make the image not seem excessive, it is worth refusing massive jewelry, it is better to choose something minimalistic.

With a T-shirt
A relaxed and very simple option. Pair it with leather pants and choose a loose T-shirt made of dense cotton, such as you can find in the men's department. Take a model of calm color without print, add a small bag, such as a baguette, sandals, or mules - and a casual, but not boring image is ready. Or you can dig out a T-shirt with your favorite band's logo in your closet, add rough boots or sneakers, a voluminous denim jacket, or a plaid shirt and you'll get a more daring combination for rock fans.

Mix leather pants with denim jackets
A denim jacket or shirt will also easily stand in an ensemble with leather pants, and the combination of different textures in one image will make it more interesting and stylish. Denim also helps balance out the possible rocker vibes that leather can give off, especially if you're wearing patent leather. Keep your accessories simple and opt for casual over glamorous, and you'll be fine.

By the way, a denim jacket can be combined with a hoodie, straightening the hood outwards, with an oversized shirt, or your favorite sweater - in any case, you will get warm and cozy.

Colorful leather pants with a sweater to match
Green, red, or purple leather (or even other shades) can seem very bold, especially for those who stick to more muted palettes, but you can easily tone it down if you wear it with knitwear or even a simple t-shirt in a similar shade.

If the pants sit loosely on you, try tucking the top in to create an eye-catching silhouette. On the other hand, if they're a tighter fit, try French tucking or simply leaving the top loose to keep the balance.

Monochrome pastel or bright shades with dark leather pants
On the opposite end of the spectrum from the aforementioned colors, dark neutrals like black, brown, or navy blue serve as a great base to highlight brighter tops, shoes, and accessories. I love this unexpected combination of chocolate brown, pistachio green, and bright pink, which helps a heavy leather fabric feel more appropriate for spring or even summer.

With a jacket
A roomy, masculine-cut jacket and leather pants are one of the favorite street style combinations. You can play it up in a multitude of ways. Take a shirt or a T-shirt as a bottom layer to create a stylish and office-appropriate look. Or replace them with a short top and add massive jewelry or a bright belt if you're going to a meeting with friends.

Another option is to go without a top at all. For a bold but sophisticated evening look, wear a fitted jacket on a bare body, add jewelry, a clutch, and heeled shoes.

All leather look
The total look of leather pants and shirt is already accentuated and does not require any additions. If you want variety, you can create a layered look with a sweater on top of the shirt, as fashion bloggers do.

Cropped grunge sweater and sneakers with leather pants
Like many '90s trends, grunge is making a comeback, though this time it's more sophisticated. Instead of wearing a really frayed sweater or flannel shirt, try an artfully decorated knit in a cropped cut. As for shoes, swap out the Dr. Martens for sneakers to complete the look.

Caring for Your Leather Pants

Leather pants traditionally return to the fashion arena every fall and winter season. The specificity of the material not only does not allow you to wear them all year round (like, for example, jeans) but also causes several problems when it comes to washing. The main thing is to know how to care for it.

Leather is one of those materials that requires preventative care. That is, you should start taking care of pants from the very moment of purchase. Before you put on pants for the first time, be sure to treat them with a special impregnation that will protect them from dirt and moisture.

Washing - both in the machine and by hand - leather pants from natural is contraindicated. Wipe the stain with benzine or acetone or try other dubious flyhacks from the network is not worth it. With serious soiling is better to go straight to the dry cleaner. However, if the stain is fresh and small, it can be carefully removed with a damp sponge and soap solution.

If you have been caught in the rain and your pants are very wet, they need to be dried properly. First of all, carefully but very gently wipe the leather pants with a soft cloth, without trying to squeeze out excess moisture. Then spread the pants on a flat surface and leave them to dry completely. Try to place them far away from the window and batteries: such a "neighborhood" is fraught with the formation of creases and deformation of the fabric.

If creases still appeared, get rid of them will help iron. It should be put on the most delicate mode (for wool or silk) and carefully iron the skin through several layers of fabric.

To make the leather pants less dirty from the inside, never put them directly on bare legs. So under them it is better to wear thin tights, leggings or any other "bottom" of thin fabric, which will prevent direct contact of your skin with the skin of the pants.

But still more often you can meet pants not from natural, but from eco friendly leather. Pants made of eco friendly leather are much easier to care for, but also have their nuances. It is useless to water them with impregnation, but they will not spoil from the usual means for washing. Still, we do not recommend throwing them into the washing machine tank with other things. Hand washing without soaking or delicate mode in the machine is ideal. It is best to wash without spinning, as this can damage the fabric.

Eco-friendly leather is a thin fabric-based coating that can be damaged quite easily. It is therefore important to choose a delicate laundry detergent. Special liquid laundry detergents for eco-leather can be found in the range of household products.
